“Ave Maria” is a piece attributed to Caccini but was actually composed by the Russian composer Vladimir Vavilov around 1970. It is now very famous and considered one of the world’s three great “Ave Maria” compositions.
The performance requires singers to possess a high level of technique to express the entire piece solely through their voice and the single phrase, “Ave Maria.” CocoSunny is a Japanese artist who developed a non-break three-octave singing method. Here, she applies her straight-tone vocal technique, rooted in Japanese classical vocalization, to a European classical song.
